GMS Conservatory Auditions

Auditions for the full-scholarship conservatory are held annually in the spring.

1.  Fill out an APPLICATION FORM online and submit all required recommendations. Applications are due May 1st.

2. Send a recommendation letter from the student’s current music teacher to Meili Bell: Due May 1st.

3.  A live audition will be held the beginning of June. Students will be notified of audition times. These auditions generally take place on Saturdays.

Audition Requirements

For admittance into the full-scholarship Conservatory, students must be able to show technical and musical proficiency that demonstrates — for their age — exceptional competency, consistent work ethic, and commitment.  Consideration is heavily weighted towards students who show evidence of hard work.

Students who accept the scholarship are expected the make GMS classes, rehearsals, concerts, and events a priority in their musical education, and are expected to adhere to the attendance policies.

Repertoire Requirements

  1. Two stylistically contrasting works that demonstrate the student’s abilities. See examples below.

  2. Three octave scale/arpeggios in all keys; at a slow tempo and rapid tempo.

We will hear auditions from the following instruments:
