Suzuki Strings Private Lessons

The Gifted Music School Preparatory Department is proud to be the first official Suzuki Strings Program in Utah! GMS offers a complete Suzuki program for Violin, Viola, and Cello. Individual lessons are attended by both the student and the parent. Parental involvement and support is a key component of the Suzuki philosophy. Parent and teacher work together to guide and nurture the student. Parents are expected to practice at home daily with their child, to ensure correct habits are being formed.

Suzuki Group Class

Working and learning together in a group is a hallmark of the Suzuki philosophy.  Group class is where the fun and magic happen! These classes are required and included in your tuition, and are where students make friends and memories that last a lifetime. It's also where the Suzuki students rehearse for performances together, preparing them for the next step of ensemble and orchestral playing.

Suzuki Parent Class

Parent involvement is one of the pillars of the Suzuki philosophy. To that end, GMS seeks to provide support, education, and a rich community for its Suzuki parents by holding parent classes and training throughout the year.  Sometimes these classes are held at GMS, sometimes they are held in partnership with other Suzuki organizations in the community. GMS understands that a supportive parent makes all the difference in a child's life, which is why we invest resources in strengthening and educating parents.

Choosing a Teacher and Instrument

A member of the Gifted Music School Suzuki faculty will work with you to find an instructor who fits both with your child's skill level and your schedule. Once you are assigned to an instructor, he or she will help you and your child in finding the perfect instrument.

Performing Groups

  • The Suzuki Strings Ensemble is a performing group exclusively for Suzuki students older than 5.
  • Pre-Twinkler Group for 3-5 year olds.
